Feeling & Looking Vintage Awesome

Part of BEING Vintage Awesome is taking care of  – nurturing – yourself.  Step 1 of LOOKING good, is feeding your wellbeing.  On this Sunday, I’m preparing treats for the week from produce I got at Saturday’s Inwood Farmers’ Market.

Strawberries are becoming breakfast/snacks:  strawberries, crushed organic almonds, wheat germ – big spoon!

String beans are parboiling.  I will add tuna and homemade balsamic dressing for lunches.  For the balsamic:  2/3 c EVOO, 1/2 balsamic vinegar, 1 T dijon mustard, 3/4 t sea salt, 1/4 t fresh ground pepper, pinchiest pinch of sugar.  Makes 1 cup.  From The Road to a Healthy Heart runs through the kitchen, Joseph C. Baking beets – I’ll add perhaps some tuna for lunches or just slice ’em and chill ’em. 

Good news:  ALL of the above is heart healthy!!
